Research Day Abstract Submissions


This is the abstract submission page for the upcoming 2023 Mount Carmel Health System Interprofessional Research and Evidence-Based Practice Day.  Submissions are encouraged from all colleagues across Mount Carmel Health System and the Mount Carmel College of Nursing.

The educational objectives for attendees of this event include the ability to:

  • Discuss the results of research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects and how they may impact patient care
  • Learn about the process of a research project and how to communicate findings
  • Gain awareness of  recent clinical research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects conducted at MCHS and MCCN

You may submit for an eight-minute podium presentation, poster, or both.  The abstract must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm Monday February 20, 2023. Abstract word count must be 300 words or less.  The Abstract Review Committee will then review the submissions and determine the final list of presenters. You will be notified by March 17, 2023 if you have been selected to present.

Abstract Submission and Presentation Requirements:

  • Case reports and case series will qualify for poster presentation only
  • Planned data collection for a project must be at least 50% complete at the time of abstract submission - if data collection is still underway abstracts should include preliminary results 
  • Podium presentations will involve individual presenters only

You will need the following information for a complete and valid submission: 

  1. Your completed abstract which follows the instructions preceding the Background & Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusions sections. 
  2. Identification of all presentation co-authors.
  3. For resident physicians and MCCN students: identification of your project advisor
